A 19th Century pink lustreware coffee can
A beautiful quality, early 19th century, pink lustre coffee 'can'. This piece is unmarked but it was probably made in Sunderland c.1820 in creamware. I love the little sloped roof house and stylised bushes and trees around it, handpainted in shades of pink lustre. This is one of the many differing designs which are known, generically, as the pink lustre house patterns. There is a hairline to the inside (not visible outside) but it doesn't leak. Other than this it is in very good, clean condition and the lustre is still very bright. No markings to the base and nice handpainted lines inside as well.
Made in UK around 1820. 6.5 cms diameter x 6 cms (2.5 x 2.75 inches)
