A beautifully leaf patterned plate from mid to late 18th century
I"m utterly in love with this beautiful hand painted pattern of scrolling leaves in a muted sepia pallette! (In fact I've been sketching it and maybe one day will make a textile based upon the design). You can see the strokes that the artist made when applying the glaze, it's just lovely. It's handmade earthenware, (you can see the irregularities in the making which I find charming). SO pretty.
Yes here is another antique I've bought that I'm altogether loathe to part with!
It has no chips but does have some wear which I've tried to show. Very good condition considering it has lasted a couple of hundred years! Nonethless it can certainly still be used, though I would hang this on the wall and admire it.
