A set of four Art Deco hand-painted soup bowls, possibly by Susie Cooper
This set of four scalloped edged bowls dates from 1934 and was hand made in Stoke on Trent. Each beautiful subtle stripe was hand applied and the colours and shapes are very pretty, both delicate and architectural. The set is in great condition for it's age, with only minor crazing to the glaze in parts and very minimal wear to the colours. I think these were used for 'BEST'! One bowl has two little chips to the underside of the scallop which is not noticeable and in no way detracts from their charm.
Made in UK in 1934 at Grays Pottery of Stoke on Trent (possibly by Susie Cooper)
