Greengage Plum & Fennel Pollen by London Borough of Jam
Greengage Plum & Fennel Pollen jam is an inspired mix from Lillie O'Brien, former pastry chef at London's St.John Restaurant. Rich and aromatic, but also comforting and deliciously fragrant.
Ingredients: Greengage plums, fairtrade unrefined golden granulated sugar, wild fennel pollen & lemon juice.
No commercial pectins added. 200g. Made in East London.
Why do we stock this in the Snowden Flood studio shop? I sampled some of Lillie O'Brien's amazing artisanal concoctions at the Pump Street Cafe in Suffolk and was excited to hear she produces her jams in East London. She buys all her fruits locally and from the New Covent Garden and New Spitalfields markets and cooks up small batches of her unusual recipes. They have a high fruit content, with a ratio of 60% fruit to 40% sugar and the quality is wonderful.
