Rhubarb & Cardamon Jam by London Borough of Jam
Rhubarb and Cardamon are both flavours I love but not ones I'd ever have dreamed of mixing together. This delicious jam is a revelation as they are perfect partners, mellow and sharp at the same time, I like this on a soft piece of sourdough or a small blob on a crumbly piece of cheshire cheese is very nice indeed too!
Ingredients: Rhubarb, fairtrade unrefined golden granulated sugar, ground cardamon & lemon juice. No commercial pectins added. 200g
Why do we stock this in the Snowden Flood studio shop? I sampled some of Lillie O'Brien's amazing artisanal concoctions at the Pump Street Cafe in Suffolk and was excited to hear she produces her jams in East London. She buys all her fruits locally and from the New Covent Garden and New Spitalfields markets and cooks up small batches of her unusual seasonally inspired recipes. They have a high fruit content, with a ratio of 60% fruit to 40% sugar and the quality is wonderful.
