'Gran Canarias' Painting

Gran Canarias is part of a series of ongoing work inspired by staircases.  I like staircases a lot, they are quite symbolic.  In a home, they take you into the more intimate parts of the house.  Think how often you go into friends houses for dinner, and yet the upstairs can be an unknown landscape.  

I painted it at the end of 2018 in gouache and watercolour on board and it's mounted and framed in a solid pallisander frame.
