Very pretty 18th Century cup and saucer

£42.00

I have no idea who made this charming hand painted cup and saucer but I know it was made between around 1780 and 1810 (because of the 'bute' shape and the fact that they haven't made an indent for the cup either).  I love the fresh colours of green and red hand-painted flowers with the gilding of copper lustreware.  A really fresh Springlike set with a long history of serving tea!

It has no chips but does have some wear which I've tried to show, including a very small hairline in the centre of the saucer which feels much more like a scratch as you can't feel it with your fingernail.  Very good condition considering it's age of over two hundred years.

Saucer: 14 cms diameter x 3 cms high (5.5 x 1.25 inches)
Cup: 8.5 cms wide x 6 cms high (3 x 2.25 inches)
Made in England
